Took 40 minutes to catch up on LJ from missing it for three days. I think that’s a new record - shortest time ever. Heh.

I need chocolate. It’s Halloween, and I’ve had two candies, one of which I bought for myself. I cannot resist Ferro Rocher.

Also, I spent way too much money and must now justify this to myself. I think selling back my Samurai Champloo DVD will help. But for now, I will enjoy it all. I go to play Shadow of the Colussus.

Edit: Ohhhh, the funny stone things are save points. I am so glad the manual mentions that. And it’s great that one out of five FAQs on GameFAQs think it’s worth mentioning that I have to hit a certain button when I’m unequipped at this certain location in order to save.

That said, holy crap this game is awesome. It’s huge. It looks nearly real, the camera (although awkward) is just incredible, and the ambiguity of the plot is boggling. Still getting used to the controls, though, and my horse has a mind of her own. And uh, that first colossus keeps stomping me.

Reference letter went out last night. It might make it in time. Let’s cross our fingers, eh? I’ve pretty much given up all hope, so I can’t possibly be disappointed, which is good. I’ll wait a week before turning my attentions to the next semester and giving it another try. I’ll also call up the college to let them know it’s coming, and to see what they need my social security card for.

Uh, yeah. Today kinda sucked. As expected, “bagging” secretly means “cashiering”. I’ve started sucking up to the supervisors, though, so maybe the one day out of five next week that I’m a bagger will actually involve bagging.

Red paint is on and drying, and I put another coat of grey on Ash’s “metal hand” so the blue pattern doesn’t show much. I still need to toss some red on the apron hem and pack everything, but I think that’s about it until next week. Awesome. Time to kick back and enjoy myself.

Speaking of which, the snow has finally receded to patches, rather than the clear spots being in patches. It does not help that the ground is completely saturated already by twenty days of rain.

It is far too early to be thinking about cons, but I already have pre-con jitters. WTF indeed. I have been checking out wigs and plotting my fuzzyness. I should actually start making that maroon suit pretty soon if I want it done in time. Suits are a pain in the ass. I never did get Muraki’s more than pinned and cut out… Tsk, and I have the shoes and tie and everything. I should buy that awesome wig and just keep Muraki around as a backup costume. But! For now I concentrate on Tucker and Kimbley. I still need a bit of cloth for Tucker’s hood, but I should have enough fur and pleather for his hands and feet.

Things to pick up from home #1: all patterns, fake fur, digital camera, Gameboy Advance SP, computer stuff (Windows reinstall, etc.).

This will be my costume, although I am much more ghetto.

Heavy, wet, messy snow. About an inch. School is cancelled some places, I hear. And guess what? I have no work today! I do have a list of things to do, though. I am remarkably cheerful for someone who just had to figure out if the power outage fried her backupless computer. I need a burner. Heh.

Anyway. It’s Sunday. Know what that means? It means I sew and play video games and possibly buy paint! I might even do the last layer of papier mache. That would be cool. Then I could put on the primer to cover the newsprint.

I think I will be switching to Linux soon. I am being seduced by the way it actually WORKS. I honestly do not know how I have simply accepted Windows’ issues for so long. Like, say your Internet won’t connect. In Windows, it takes ten minutes just to find the little box that says what your IP is, nevermind reestablish the connection. In Linux, there’s one file you go to and poke. Ahaha. Why did we never think of that?

Of course, it does break sometimes, as it’s always changing. If that happens, you just go back to the last build. HOW NOVEL.

Sanzo is giving me a look that can be interperted to mean, “It’s time to change this fucking layout already.” I’m leaning towards bright colors, like orange or pink. Maybe not pink. But Naruto Orange is a possibility.

Karie, yesterday I was supposed to be a bagger. They put me on Express. I think my expression of sheer panic and terror made my supervisor let me off that as soon as possible. Plus, I had just told her that I hate working the register. And I pulled something in my hip which is still not completely better, but I am so not calling in. I have the vague hope that I might be bagging, but I doubt it.

Also, I was supposed to get a paycheck, but instead I cashed an IOU. Apparently it’s all my driver’s liscence’s fault. It has letters as well as numbers. But hey, rent money! Whoo-hoo!

I splurged on Ebay. If I win the current auction at its current sprice, I will have spent $24. SOMEONE STOP ME.

Okay, person that I gave FMA recs to yesterday? Apparently has read some of my stuff and sekritly stalks me. WTF NO. I STALK YOU.

I am increasingly distressed by the number of people that like my writing.

I am going to play Myst IV after I eat something. I should really start eating in the morning. I’m never hungry until about noon, though. Also, Karie, you were right about grocery work - I’m losing weight like whoa. Plus gaining muscle in the arms, which is new. I used to be able to feel 5lb bags of flour when I hefted them, like just knowing they’re there, but now it’s like holding a roll of tin foil. Keraaaaazy.

It is slightly worrying how little I eat, but I think my stomach just shrank while I was sick. I can’t eat a whole plate of food in one sitting, and I eat like, one and a half meals a day. I’m just not hungry. I also have a sudden aversion to cookies. They’re just… bleh. Not interested. I’d rather splurge on a pomegranate.
