Tadaima.
Finally, finally home. Otakon was fun, but it wasn’t worth the car troubles. I would like to forget all about it, so hopefully this is the last you hear of it. Hikage-neesan is still in NY, as is most of the others. No idea when they’ll be back, it depends on the mechanics.
So. The concert. INSANELY COOL. It got me addicted to Full Metal Alchemist, which is bad because I have no money, and Ken (the tenor guitarist? Eh, I suck with band terms) came out wearing a dolphin mask from the aquarium and a duck call from the land/harbor tour and started quacking at everyone. XD Then he was like, “Who am I?”
Crowd: KEN!!
Ken: No. Who am I?
Crowd: Uh, KEN!!
Ken: Never. I am dolphin!
Crowd: OMG we luff you!!
So yeah. Crazy coolness. And! Cosplay! Steph-san, Steph-san, I have five DW cosplayers for you! I’ll get them developed as soon as I can. (I asked them all if it was alright to put their pictures on your site, and most of them knew what I was talking about! Ha!)
There was an Akito, and he was wonderful and I got lots of pictures of him (including when he flopped after the masquerade, which made me squeal) and there was the Juunishi Challenge, which was a game where you found members of a certain group of Fruits Basket cosplayers and glomped them all and they gave you pins to show that you glomped them and when you got all eight of the pins you could win a shirt! And Riveth, Littlenymph and I all won! *squeal* And! And! I won a raffle! I got the cutest Naruto standup, and his scroll is a whiteboard, and I’m gonna take a picture of all the crap I got. XD
And some guy stole my Otaku Hunter. *sniffle* He had a camera crew and everything. I was torn between being sad that he did it better and being happy that he did it better. ^^;; But! A Wolfwood had a confessional and I confessed my sins for a quarter. Hee hee. And the Jewish Wolfwood was wicked cool, and the Wolfwoods got together in one of the lobbys and did a laying of hands on the crowd and healed Barret’s gun arm. XD
Oh! And there were TWO Raziel cosplayers! *luff* I traded cosplay tips with one and admired the other’s Reaver. It was very cool. And there was catboys (I got a picture of Leon for you, Steph) and lots of Murakis and Sephiroths and it was WICKED. Oh! And there was the best Sora from Halloween Town, and I hope that picture comes out well because he was just PERFECT. I’ve never seen such a good Halloween Town cosplay. And there were lots of half-nekkid bishounen running around, and the usual “Hug Me” signs held by desperate, unloved fanboys, and an unusual amount of said signs held by desperate, unloved fangirls.
And I got the last volume of Saiyuki, and the first volume of Reload, which is insanely good. It’s almost cinematic, and just the progression of images can tug at your heartstrings. There was one point where a youkai they’d befriended went crazy and Goku was like, “NANDE DA YO~?!” and I cried. It was sad. And! I have some Fruits Basket manga now, and lots of free stuff, and I still want a cell phone strap. I comissioned a piece in the Art Room, but they disappeared, so I got their URL and I’m gonna try to get it that way. I really want this thing. It’s evil!Riku in color, with the pose and everything left up to the artist. And I go business cards for the really good artists, and I’ll pimp them later, and I bought a print from P.L. Nunn! And she signed it! *squee!* And Yuki Eiri signed my con badge, and we met cool people, and it was all CRAZY.
And the best part? I’m home, my animals are fine, and I can see all of you again. I missed you guys so much. *hugs everyone*
I’m gonna read blogs now. And then I’m going to gather my film and figure out how much it’ll cost to develop. And then I’m going to revel in being home. (I gave Mum a list of what I was going to do when I got home as we were driving back at 1 in the morning, and I followed it exactly: Get home, check on animals, cry my eyes out because I can now, go to sleep.)
I love you all. I can’t wait for the party so I can assure myself we’re all alive. *sigh of relief* Tadaima.
