Nya-hah!

Neechan, I humbly request permission to spend untold hours in your room, talking to your ratties and doing things with large amounts of cloth. …Please? I like talking to the ratties. Even if they sleep through my dissertation on the nature of Jenova cells. ;_;

Elise: “How do you think I feel, Karie? I’m either Kurikara or Hisoka. Hisoka + Lisette = glowy crimson nasty curse scars. And Tsuzuki doing the ‘Yelp-and-Retreat’ thing. (of course, there’s also my fervent wish that Kurikara + Muraki = Dismembered Doctor ^_^… Futsu-no-Mitama’s gotta be good for something… Stupid Futsu.)”
XD Stupid Futsu, indeed. I still have that darn sword half-formed. As for your lovely arithmetic… Muraki agrees. XD And he likes it when Tsuzuki runs: not only does it make the chase ever more interesting, but Tsuzuki has a nice bum. But, if you so choose to be Hisoka, I will be more than happy to assist with drawing on your curse scars. (Which gives me a mental image of Muraki and Hisoka under the sakura with a magic marker. “Damn it! It ran out of ink! Stay there while I get another one, boya.”)

In other news, I am feeling poorly, as the British say. (Or so I’m told.) Just a general ickyness. Hopefully it’s just tiredness and not actual illness. I probably need to remember to take my meds. That tends to fix all kinds of ills. XD Funny, that.

I’m thinking of joining the brand-spanking-new sewing club at school. I’m only thinking, because my attempts at the… whaddayacallit… archives club kinda failed miserably, and this thing is on the same day. But it’s like costuming, yanno? But I don’t have the money for anything other than Muraki. *sigh* I’ll go to the first meeting and see what it’s like. Maybe I can convert them all to cosplay. (Hah. Stupid preppies.)

And now I take my leave.

I have mucho fabric. Why, you ask? Well, it has to do with a tiny local con, Otakon, and this. Hee hee hee. Tsuzuki-chan is going to kill me. XD

I’m going to have to buy a longish wig and cut it, it seems. I’m shirtless, shoeless, sockless, buttonless, and gloveless. And I’m only in the pinning stages of the durn thing, but since I bought the fabric yesterday that’s understandable. Can I use the suiting as interfacing, do you think? I’m pretty much out of money at the moment, so the interfacing shall suffer. (I have lining, though. And shoulder pads. And felt. Why does it need felt? Gah.)

I can’t wait to have this done. (Oh, and I need white stage powder. I’ll have to talk to my drama friends.) It’ll be so much fun! I’ve wanted to do this outfit for so long. Hee hee. I’m gonna have to study his haircut, though… I’ve seen it attempted a variety of ways, and none of them looked right.

Littlenymph, PM me in the forum about the wig, ey? I think I have it chosen, but I’m worried about paying you. I won’t have the money for at least a month. ;_;

I want to buy a doll, too, but that means I’ll have to get a job between now and July 30th. Grr. I’ll have to get a job anyway to pay for Otakon, so I suppose it’s for the best. Durn doll’s only $22 with s&h, anyway. (Wait! If I save my lunch money… *calculate calculate* Yes! If I save $10 a week, plus my allowance, I get over $300! That should be enough for the hotel, at least. Yay! Gonna buy a doll! XD But then I need to make her outfit…)

So. Yeah. I love cosplay. XD I’ll be sure to post pictures, don’t you worry. I kinda wish I had a good camera. Disposables just don’t cut it. What brought this on, you ask? Realizing that a good camera can make all the difference in the world.

Ah, sweet cosplay. ^.^

Boo ya ka. Boo ya ka.

Eh, wot?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lisette @ 8:47 pm

Four days since I’ve blogged. I feel kind of guilty. ^^;; On the other hand, who on earth wants to hear me blather on about nothing at all? Heh.

I’ve been pretty busy. Midterms are over, thank god, and I think I’ve managed a C or better in every class for the semester. Pretty good, ey? ^_^ Friday night was a bit of a party, involving hair-dyeing and a 24-hour Wal-Mart and being up until 3am. Saturday was the semi-formal, and being female, that required a full 12 hours of preparation time. I did, however, get a delightful group picture of me and most of my group of friends doing the Charlie’s Angels pose. XD It was an enjoyable evening. I learned how to play blackjack. …I think. ^^;; Yesterday we helped Neechan move back into college and got home around 10, but I couldn’t fall asleep until after midnight. And I seem to have strained every muscle in my body, AND I might *knocks on wood* be getting whatever horrid thing my parents have. As it’s put them flat on their backs for a matter of weeks, I sincerely hope I’m not getting it.

Oh, and I’m finally realizing I’m 18. It’s very odd. However, I highly reccomend the age to anyone considering a birthday. 18 is a wonderful thing to be. (And I shall vote tomorrow, although undoubtably Bush shall find a way to remain in office and thus rendering the democratic process ineffective.)

Ah, sweet fanfiction. What would I do without you? …Clean my room out of sheer boredom, probably. XD Which I will end up doing anyhow, as I’m preparing to welcome the snake. Yes, still. *pout* It’s too cold to ship them in, apparently, so I have to wait until the weather gets warmer. That’ll be so looooong…. *whine whine* Sometimes I hate New England, yanno? It’s inconvenient.

But anyhow. New semester, new class. Lit & Film is gone in exchange for Short Stories, which is looking to be the easiest damn class I’ve ever had. Including kindergarten. Yeah, this is about the level of kindergarten.

Teacher: The story we’ll be reading tomorrow is called “Runaway Rig.” Any guesses what it’s about?
Crickets: *chirp chirp*
Spider: *crawls across my desk*
Teacher: That’s right! It’s about a truck that goes out of control! And what happens when a truck goes out of control?
Class: *chirp chirp*
Spider: *crawls some more*
Teacher: That’s right! It can crash into things! Won’t this be exciting?!
Spider: *chirp chirp*

(The only exaggerations in the previous scene were the chirps. Everything else is nearly verbatim. What a sad, sad school system we have.)

Mmmmm. One more midterm and I’m done. It feels good. ^_^ I’m not sure how well I did on the written part of the orchestra test, but I got 100 in Civilization. ^_^ Yay for me! Yaaaay! I’m so cool.

…Anyway. Good stuff. I’m so tired. I stayed up late and got up early to finish my Civ final (it involved a recording and a newspaper), so now I’m just… exhausted. I might take a nap. Hmm. But I want to read some more fanfiction…

The problem with fanfiction, though, is that so much of it sucks. Do you know how hard it is to find an in-character Snape? Or, for that matter, a plot that actually makes you think? So I mostly rely on rec sites, but it’s hard to find a good reccer. >.< A never-ending circle of decay, that's what it is. Sigh.

That said, I am going to look for just one more fic and then nap. And I will drink soda. And then, when I wake up, I will study, because U.S. History is one of the subjects I can’t afford to fail. (Not that I’m failing now, I just… Well, nevermind.)

Does anyone know where the Harry Potter Handsignals are? Yanno, that diagram from WWII with captions about the fandom? It was amusing. I can’t find it.

Edit: Nevermind. Found it.

*staggers around carrying a case of IBC Root Beer* Drink up, me hearties, yo ho! *hic!* A pirate’s life for me - avast! Shiver me timbers! Arr! This one’s empty! *tosses empty bottle aside and looks around for the rest of the root beer* …Where’s the rum gone?! Oh, there it is. *gets another bottle and chugs away* Hee, really bad eggs… Maurading, embezzle, and even hijack, drink up me hearties, yo ho… We’re devils and black sheep and really bad eggs, drink up me hearties, yo ho! *hic!*

I’ll never understand why I like Weiss’ music. To be blunt, they suck musically. Their voices don’t match, they usually sound like they’re singing completely different notes, the background is too full of noise… But I love them. Sigh.

Midterm went well, I hope. The only part I had trouble with was writing a screenplay and storyboard. I ended up staying after the bell to finish. ^^;; It’s just a half-year course, though, so I never have to go back. …That makes me sad, actually. And starting next week I have no Mod A. It’s an odd feeling. I’ll just be sitting around school for 45 minutes. (Damn my lack of a car.)

This Saturday is the semi-formal! Yay! And I played FFTA! Double yay! (It’s addictive. Little sprites on a tiny screen! Pointless battles! Yay!)

I had been wondering where my FAKE manga went, and Wormtail told me I let Wuffers borrow it, and I was like, “That’s weird, she was just lending out her FAKE to other people.” And then Weasley said that Wuffers got her own FAKE, but she had never given me mine back, and then today Wuffers said she’d bring mine in. ^^;; I’m glad my friends know more about what happens to me than I do, because darn if I can remember any of it.

I want my snake. ;_; I’m trying to think of names, but I think I might just consult my star chart and choose a random name. As long as it starts with an “S” or an “R”. Dunno why. ^^;; I’m a bit worried about getting the dearie, though. How often do they need to eat? What kind of bedding is best? (Probably a kind that’s dry but not dusty.) How many crickets should I give it? Should I breed my own crickets? *fret fret* It doesn’t help that I can’t find any information on them. I have to make do with garter snake info, I suppose.

My brother was cool today and offered to let me borrow his GameBoy Advance tomorrow while I’m waiting 2 hours for the bus. So I shall play Tactics. (Yes, Steph, and you can’t ogle me in shock as I do so. Nyah.) This is a good thing. I won’t be too dreadfully bored. Yay for portable video games! Yaaay!

Now go the MatrixXP. YOU WILL LAUGH. I promise. I almost pissed myself. (I did, in fact, bang my head on the computer desk many times. And I had a coughing fit which seems to have torn my throat. But it was worth it.)

So. Um. There were things I wanted to say, but I forget what they were. I’ve been reading up on LotR cosplay and gelatin prosthetics. Yes, I have no life. I also studied, which is good. I also helped out a classmate with her studying, which is excellent. I also bought my outfit for the semi-formal dance - because of my bruising from giving blood, I ended up not getting a dress, but rather a very pretty outfit which happens to involve jeans. Rar. But I went all stylish on it and so it looks very nice. Rar. I r teh kewl.

Right, off to bed I go. G’night, all!

ARGHIBIBBLE.

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lisette @ 4:05 pm

I am so pissed off right now, to the point of wanting to break things. And over what? The Ritz cracker box being empty and not thrown away. Think I’m a little stressed? Yeah, me too.

Midterms next week, which is reason enough for being nervous, but I keep second-guessing myself and thinking that this might determine whether or not I graduate. Which, if I bomb the tests, will be true enough, but I should actually be fine. But Mr. Stress doesn’t really listen to rational thought. *sigh*

What I plan on doing is reading fanfiction until I calm down, figure out something fun to do this weekend, and relax. Giving myself an aneurism won’t help anything. (Good god, did I spell that right?) God, do I want Chinese food. General Gao’s Chicken. Just give me General Gao’s Chicken and some fried rice and I’ll be fine…
