Apologies for the srsly long quote. I cut out a lot, if you don't believe me czech vh1. :>

So. I think Coldplay was cheated out of a number of categories, Best Album and Best Record surely. Plant and Krauss are a stellar duo, but Viva La Vida was fucking fantastic. I used to be fairly ambivalent towards Coldplay, but that album man. Brian Eno sure didn't hurt either (if you can't hear his influence, well...)

I'm so glad Weezer got best "short form" (wtfever) music video for Pork and Beans. If you haven't seen it (mute if you don't like weezer), go to youtube now. I guarantee you will enjoy what you see.

The Dark Knight had a fantastic score, if anyone could hook me up with mp3s I'll make it worth your while. PM me.

I like that John Mayer is getting recognition for his vocals, and dislike how much attention Metallica is getting for Death Magnetic. (It's good, but not great. There's a lot of amazing metal being released, let Metallica go. [They're more thrash metal now anyway.] Disturbed should get more love I think, they've really tightened up. I'd like to see them live, but I have no interest in the bands touring with them or the fanbase they'd bring along. >_>)

Also, it cracks me up that "I Kissed a Girl" got nominated for best vocal performance. Really?! The song is catchy enough, but wow, those vocals aren't much to write home about.

Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals... I could see Violet Hill getting edged out on this one (the song isn't friendly, I'd say.) but not THIRD. Long Road out of Eden should be first or second, too. Sure, The Eagles got back together for the money. They (Joe Walsh, I think) admitted to it on 60 Minutes. They're still very good at what they do, and that song was one of the "best rock performances" of the year. (Personal bias does weigh in here: Kings of Leon never have done much for me, and I think AC/DC would have been better off if they hadn't recorded another damn album)

Sorry for babbling so much. Your thoughts?

How she does it is a conundrum wrapped in an enigma-stuffed mystery. Or, y'know, a mystendrum.

Re: Grammy winners 2009

I didn't realize so many old schoolers were recording again. Springsteen; Plant; Neil Diamond, The Eagles. Hell what's next, another Tupac and Biggy album?

That said I don't have much commentary on the winners and losers; most of the music I haven't heard since the closest thing to a radio I have is my window whenever a company marches by calling cadence lol

Re: Grammy winners 2009

Dude Springsteen has a goddamn XM radio station. XD Plant never really stopped, and funny story about The Eagles. When they initially broke up, they were done. Quite seriously. And based on a well-published quote, their reunion tour was.... the Hell Freezes Over tour.
