Topic: Phobia thread!

My most notable fear is my zombie-phobia. When I sit around daydreaming about having my own place, plans for defensibility against zombies are an automatic consideration. When I get left alone too long I become convinced everyone in the world has turned into zombies. They terrify me, utterly and completely. Yet somehow I've seen almost every Romero zombie movie, plus 28 Weeks Later and Shaun of the Dead. I was in sobbing terror through all of them, though!

Also I am afraid of big black dogs, people listening to me while I pee, and the space under my bed. But that last one is related to the zombie thing.

Tell me your deepest, darkest fears. Or your really silly ones. Doesn't have to be a serious phobia - any kind of fear is good enough for me! I promise I won't do anything to scare you. ...Really. You can trust me.

Got questions, concerns, zombies at your door? Send me a message! I don't bite... unless you're marinated.

Re: Phobia thread!

Garden variety arachnophobia.  When I was 10 or so my family moved into this house that was absolutely infested with everything under the sun.  This attracted predatory bugs, namely black widows.  2 or 3 per room at least.  While I can deal with everything else that was in that house(mice, rats, a brief roach scare, ants) the spiders got to me.  Seeing anything over a house spider still creeps me out a little.

Although lately it's becoming a morbid fascination.  Some things like funnelwebs and goliath spiders still scare the hell out of me but I read up on them for some reason.  Oddly enough, my favorite at the moment is the redback.  A spider the size of a pea taking down trapdoor spiders and small lizards is just awesome.

fake edit:  The house was infested because the area(agency campus, Nick) was extremely poor and had several abandoned sheds in the block behind us.  Our neighbors basically left, leaving everything(including food I hear) in the house, which attracted every kind of pest to our block.

Earwigs. Make me scream and cry like the little girl I am.

Thunder and lightning as well. :\

My weirdest phobia is Germans, though. I mean, an actual German person speaking the German language. Terrifies me to no end. If you're a student of German, it doesn't bug me for whatever reason, nor does looking at the words, or their history. Juuust the people talking.

Re: Phobia thread!

$cientologists. I shit you not. They probably have no idea who I am, let alone know I exist, but I'm afraid that will somehow change and they'll come after me. When ever I hear about them I have actual physical reactions usually involving shuddering. I once saw a booth of theirs at some public event and I couldn't bear to even look at the booths around them, because I was too busy scooting my ass the the hell past the psychotic crazies who were smiling and handing out pamphlets. Most religious zealots inspire some level of fear that I generally put on the same level as mentally insane people, but for all except the $cientologists, anger usually outweighs the fear. If one ever approached me, I might have to knock it out before it got a good look at my face.

There are more, but that is all for now.

Tornadoes. Can't even look at a picture in a book, I have to cover it with my hand.

Re: Phobia thread!

We are some awfully interesting people. D:

Not sure this really qualifies, but I am absurdly terrified of embarrassment. Not necessarily my own - seeing something embarrassing on TV makes me ill, I have to get up and leave. I get myself in some weird situations trying to avoid embarrassment. It can get kinda extreme, actually. I'm feeling ill and shaky just thinking about it. :(

Re: Phobia thread!

I am absolutely terrified of slugs, and centipedes. I have hysterics and my mind practically shuts down and I try to talk but it comes out in this really annoying high pitched panicked whine. XP;;

Come to the light side, we provide the milk. ^_~

Re: Phobia thread!

lisette! I'm the same!

I seem to drift off into little dreams that someday the world will turn into zombies.
Though I don't understand when I watch the movies I laugh out loud XDD

Pyramid Head. Main reason being-- That one time I was sitting in bed playing Final Fantasy 7. When I saw Jenova, Pyramid Head suddenly came to mind. Then I just stared at my door for ages.

Resident Evil 1......(lame...I know)
I've never been able to finish that game for some reason. It's gives me the creeps. When I reach a part I don't like it goes off...¬____¬''''

Like that one time while playing SH2 in the dark and getting to the part where you see him behind the bars in the apartments?

For me... I can't tell to be honest because it's a tough one for me to answer, I'm scared of heights to a degree but it's wierd in that I get used to it or just shit myself outright.

There was this time years ago when I was shit-scared of PinHead from Hellraiser though, I gotten over that now to be honest.

Pecking Order: It's you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's Stool, Kame... and Popo

Hardly lame! That game gave me my fear of zombies. Yeah, chock up a another person for a zombie-phobia. I think I was ten when I first saw that game, and zombies turned into my #1 phobia for years. And when you live right by a graveyard? ;_; Seeing five minutes of the Night of the Living Dead remake not long after that just made it worse.
That phobia still lingers with me slightly. I've gotten over some of it, but I still have this minor fear of them. I get weary around zombie Halloween decorations.

I also have a mild case of arachnaphobia. Most spiders scare me to death, especially ones I've never seen before, but some, I actually got so used to seeing I can just look at them and kill them without a second thought.

... I also have a major fear of dentists. As sad as that is.

Quick! Pull him up to the balloon so we can toss him over the side again!

Resident Evil 1 made me the scardy cat I am today XD
I don't plan on finishing it..I might go into Cardiac Arrest XD

I can finish the others without being scared...though in Resi 3 when Nemesis jumps through the window of the police station is pretty frightnening...¬_____¬
