This show rocks. Absolutely amazing writing, doesn't strangle you with pop culture, nor does it focus on being OMG SO EDGY like many other shows I've tried to get into.
REQUEST: Anything from season 5, use spoiler tags. Do those exist? Abstain from season 5 until they do. Season 4 is fair game (poor Wilson).
I honestly watched a few episodes and I can't get into it. It's just way to formulaic with House acting as a walking(hobbling?) deus ex machina.
Guy collapses mysteriously CSI style!
Med team is baffled!
House makes edgy jokes and initial diagnosis.
Guy gets worse not better!
House takes pills, hits on female staff, and then makes a new discovery based on hamburgers or something.
New diagnosis success! Administer new drugs!
Guy almost dies!
House saves guy!
Yep! But we don't watch it for the story. XD Seriously. 
hated the first few episodes for that reason. So did my roommate. Then they both got over it since I continued to watch it and discovered that it's the comedy and writing that makes it fun. Now they both watch it semi-obsessively.
They change up the formula often enough that it's not predictable. Reliable perhaps, but that's a job for ya. Though it's commonly said while watching, "he can't have solved it, there's still 15 minutes in the episode!"
Hahah, that is so true! Although even for that, they throw loops at you every once in a while. ^_^ Ah, House, how I love you.

And to just invite myself right into the current conversation: LOL at the 'can't be it, still 15 mins left!' thing, because that has come from my own lips more often than I can remember, but you've gotta love House all the same--the characters make the show, whether the mystery is actually intriguing or not.
We do have spoilers tags! I don't have the button up for them yet, but they work.
Quite apart from everything else about House, he has great taste in video games: Metroid and Ninja Gaiden. He should play Trauma Center sometime.
That would be incredibly meta. I also saw him playing Ridge Racer on a kid's PSP in some episode..
The only reason I watch the show is for the staff interactions (mostly when they involve House). And if someone's watching it while I happen to be in the room. When that show is funny, it's hilarious. When it's trying to be dramatic, I start doing something else. Then again, the only doctor show I could ever really get into is Scrubs, so thar u go. :B
Scrubs is AWESOME. I wish I caught it more often, I haven't seen an episode I didn't like.

Except for the later episodes being trash and the slow realization that JD was always prepped to be the new Dr. Cox, because he's a horrible human being I really liked Scrubs.

Because somehow House had a lower mortality rate than a damned sitcom.
Because the show suffered Firefly syndrome for a long time and a lot of people forgot it existed.
Because you work graveyard and there is absolutely nothing to do at 6:30 in the morning.
